In a column just last week, I (slightly) bemoaned the ubiquitousness of Christmas music at this time of year. While I stand by my words, I might have to clarify a bit: I don’t dislike holiday music per se, just its overabundance when it seems to permeate the airwaves sometime around, oh, Labor Day.

Fort Bend ISD Superintendent Dr. Christie Whitbeck has decided to retire immediately, while two more years still remain in her contract. The board of trustees will consider Whitbeck’s voluntary retirement agreement at the Dec. 4 board meeting. The board will also name an acting superintendent and approve a stipend contract for the acting superintendent.
